Two kinds of information
Customer information includes the name, email, company, billing address, order details, and messages you provide when using PsychScout. Professional contact records are a separate part of our product: they can include a psychiatrist’s name, NPI, specialty, practice location, email, phone, and other available professional fields. A professional email address can still be personal information.
How information is used
Account and billing information supports sign-in, purchases, file access, and customer support. Messages are used to respond to the issue you raise. Technical request information helps operate the website and diagnose errors. Professional records are used to provide specialty and location filters, coverage counts, masked previews, and purchased contact lists.
Professional records and paid disclosure
PsychScout sells access to professional contact lists. When a customer purchases a file, identifiable professional information is disclosed to that customer. This activity may be a sale of personal information under applicable privacy law. Preview masking does not make the underlying records anonymous. A listing is not evidence that the professional has consented to receive a buyer’s messages.
Sources and accuracy
Provider identifiers, taxonomy, location, and contact details appear in the source records used by the service. Source provenance and collection dates can vary by field. Do not assume that every email was supplied by its owner or that every record is current. You can ask about a particular record, request a correction, or ask for its removal through the privacy-request page.
Service providers and payment information
Information needed to run the service may be processed by hosting, account-authentication, database, email-verification, messaging, and payment providers. The payment method selected at checkout determines which provider handles that transaction. Payment references and statuses are used to associate purchases with your account. Do not send card numbers, passwords, or bank credentials through support or contact forms.
Browser storage and external services
The website uses browser local storage for account state, cart contents, Finder preferences, and guest support-session continuity. Clearing that storage can remove these preferences or access to a guest conversation. The contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA when configured. Authentication and payment services can use their own cookies and technical data under their privacy notices. Browser cookie controls are not a substitute for requesting removal of a professional database record.
Retention and security
Different records have different purposes: account details support ongoing access; transaction records support accounting and disputes; support messages provide conversation history. Retention also depends on legal obligations and service-provider settings. A download-link expiry is not a promise that the source record has been deleted. No website or verification method provides absolute security. Contact us about a suspected exposure without including secrets in your message.
Your choices and requests
Use Privacy requests to ask about access, correction, deletion, objection, or opting out of sale or sharing where those rights apply. You do not need a customer account to submit a request. Include only the information needed to locate the record. Some requests may require proportionate identity checks before private information can be disclosed; a sale opt-out should not require creating an account. Applicable law determines rights, exceptions, and response deadlines.
Location, children, and updates
Service providers may process information in countries different from yours. Ask us for details relevant to your request. PsychScout is intended for adult professional use, not for collecting children’s or patients’ information. The child and adolescent psychiatry specialty refers to adult professionals, not patient records. This page’s revision date identifies the current wording; it does not establish when a database record was collected.
